Going Home

                                                            GORDON POWELL CAVE JR.
                                                        March 15, 1930 - October 5, 2013

Last night after all of our family went home from visiting Gordo … Dad lay peacefully with sweet Liz at his side … then he (too) went home. Into the arms of our Lord and all who have gone before him. Can’t even imagine what an amazing welcoming party it was.
Although our hearts hurt today ... we rejoice in knowing that we will sing with him again.
Thanks to all of you for accompanying us on our journey with Gordo. I won’t be able to write about dad’s current path … but if I could … I’m quite sure it would still include love, laughter and lots of singing!
Take care my dear friends and God Bless.
Love always … PookerAnnie

    Sunset

    The beginning of the sunset,
Mirrors the opening of the dawn.
    Bringing warmth at morning,
    Till at last the coolness,
Brought on by the setting sun.
    Tomorrow starts off differently,
    Unlike the day before.
Because a friend who was very dear,
Has waned and is no more.
    Like the morning sun expected,
    Rising in the East,
    Consort of our daily life,
Has walked on through the haze.
Although the face we yearn to see,
    Has faded from our view.
We remember in our minds eye,
    With visions bright and true.
Our friendship sailing past the day,
    Into the eternal night.
    Until we again are reunited,
    By God's Eternal Light.
