One day when I was helping dad put on his hearing aids … I asked Gordo this question. What would Beethoven have been like if he had been able to wear a hearing device before he lost most of his hearing? Dad sums it up by stating (which now seems obvious to me). It would have COMPLETELY changed the power of his compositions. Example: Mozart's music is very elegant, while there's strength and a vitality that infuses much of Beethoven's music.
I would totally agree with that. It is rather interesting that I prefer Beethoven and Dad loves Amadeus.
